Ubuntu - The Team Building Program
Through a series of interactive exercises, participants earn animals, that’s right animals, that are donated to families around the world through our partnership with Heifer International. (If you’re not familiar with Heifer International, their mission is to work with communities to end hunger and poverty by providing livestock and training to small-scale farmers worldwide.)

After initial group-bonding activities, participants watch a brief, inspirational and moving video to learn how they will be impacting people from around the world. Then, the games begin! Groups of four to six individuals “compete” against each other for prizes. Team victories earn real-life animals that can change the lives of people around the world. For example, a first place win earns a cow that provides milk. Second place earns chickens that hatch eggs and third place earns a bee hive that generates honey that can be used by the families or sold at a market. All of the teams are guaranteed to make a contribution to this worthy cause.

After naming your team, imagine creating your own village flag, then building a hut with interesting arts and crafts supplies. Is your team up for the hay bale stacking challenge? How about moving a marble through a device of your own construction? It’s not as easy as it may sound. Do you think you can build a throne for your village elder…out of balloons? We’ll see! Teamwork, creativity, and fast-thinking will drive your success. And our closing drum circle activity will rock your world!

Each team building activity is funnier and more challenging than the last and overall, the session highlights the idea of working together to accomplish great things. Participants will laugh their way throughout the session and will leave with the satisfaction of contributing to an organization that truly helps people to transform their lives.
