Occasionally a team member will dominate a discussion out of sheer frustration. The member may be concerned about issues at work or something in particular that has happened. Whether the issue is on the agenda or not, the member may want to talk about
it and resolve it.
To the other team members, the issue may not be high on the priority listing, but the dominating member keeps on addressing it.
In this case a "time out" should be taken for a few minutes to address the team member's concern, then determine an appropriate time either in this meeting or a future one where it can be discussed further.
This honors the team member's need to be heard without taking the meeting off course, and will usually reduce the frustration, at least temporarily.
