The Self-Directed Work Team
The self-directed work team, or SDWT for short, is a highly developed group of workers who "own" a basic block of work.

Self-Directed Team members: 

• share equal responsibility for the work
• generally have more resources at their command
• have a wider range of cross-functional skills
• possess greater decision making authority
• have better access to information than traditional work groups
