The Self-Directed Work Team
The self-directed work team, or SDWT for short, is a highly developed group of workers who "own" a basic block of work.
Self-Directed Team members:
- share equal responsibility for the work
- generally have more resources at their
command
- have a wider range of cross-functional
skills
- possess greater decision making
authority
- have better access to information than traditional work
groups
